Pause is a system of shelving and storage options for lounge and home office situations. The design brief called for an enduring aesthetic, the flexibility to accommodate as many different media options as possible and a fundamental consideration of all aspects of sustainability.

The name was chosen as a reflection of the prevalence of electronic media, shorter product life-cycles and the unresolved environmental consequences. The choices - solid timber rather than veneers; repairable wax oil finishes; a local manufacturing base - are driven by the unique proposition that OTTO maintains a life-long relationship with the furniture it produces - exchange it for another OTTO piece, or OTTO refurbish and resell it. 

The range combines European Oak shelves and carcases with structural elements manufactured in stainless-steel. Concealed light fittings provide ambient lighting as well as illuminating drawer interiors.
